This 1991 single was a big hit in the US for Siouxsie and the Banshees- Stephen Hague production, Talvin Singh on tabla and backing vocals, a Schooly D sample- but I think it may have slipped through the net here. Siouxsie was possibly a bit old hat in '91 but this song shows somebody's finger was on the pulse. It's begging for an expansive remix too. Listened to in 2014 it sounds like perfect, glittery pop music. And there's nowt wrong with that.

Aw.......siouxsie sioux.
Very nice on a tuesday morning, doing my marking, watching bbc red button - the sounds of the 80's. Probably too cheesy for you though.
Am now gonna dig out Hong Kong Garden which is my fav.
I'm about to do a pile of marking. I can tolerate a certain amount of cheese Anonymous.
Clearly, I am not anonymous, but don't know it decided I was!
Good Rick Astley interview on RB.
I dare you.
Hmm, fiver says you are a Yorkshire based geography teacher. Actually watched the Rick Astley interview late on Saturday night having come in from a party. And then snapped into sobriety by thinking 'what the fuck am i doing watching a Rick Astley interview at one a.m.?'
Could have been worse, you could have watching The Voice Portugal on sunday night.
Yup that does sound worse
School of Seven bells did a nice cover of this song recently. Worth a listen if you have not already
Great single. I was working in the Virgin Megastore at the time, and so my memory of this may be different to the 'outside world' but i thought this was a big success over here. Only just made it into the top 40 by the looks of things.
Still the staff at that point were either pillheads dancing all night or goths. And some people were a weird combination of both, so tunes like this were probably made for us.
Late era Siouxsie And The Banshees produced some glittering gems. This was certainly one of them. The Killing Jar, Peek-Boo, Stargazer, Ornaments Of Gold (which would have felt at home on A Kiss In The Dreamhouse), The Last Beat Of My Heart, The Ghost In You, Fall From Grace...hmm yeah I really like the last couple Siouxsie albums I guess.
A very good song and at the height at their time. A great collaboration with Talvin Singh as well. Good choice SA
had to see the cover of the 12" to realise i bought that when it came out :)
mostly for the red snapper remix.
