I have a hangover.
Another American band making skew-wiff, bouncy guitar music, following recent bagging Area postees Wounded Lion, Woods and Warpaint. It's hard to resist a song that starts with frantic drumming, fast acoustic guitars and the line 'I live in the graveyard, I want to go out but it's too hot'.

Not sure it'll help my head though.

GOOD GIG?
ReplyDeleteYeah, eventually. Last hour was good, plenty of dancers. Got quite drunk.
ReplyDeleteWhat was your playlist then?
ReplyDeleteEarly on when everyone was outside/in side bar some Orb, St Etienne, Homes' 69 Police, bit of reggae, then once people started to come in to the room a load of 80s stuff (OMD, Blondie, Bow Wow Wow, Fun Boy 3 etc), then some housey stuff (MARRS, Bassheads, K Klass, Love Can't Turn Around, Voodoo Ray etc- got 'em moving. Then another guy plugged his cd mixer in a played an hour of earsplittingly loud dance music. And the Kings Of Leon. Then I did the last hour- Madchester, Dexys, Specials, Buzzcocks, Run DMC and suchlike.Only put 1 on at wrong speed too.
ReplyDeleteHaving just put my records away I've remembered I also played a bit of Northern Soul, Loaded, Born Slippy, S'Express, The Dame's Heroes, Iggy, Bobby Fuller Four's I Fought The Law and Nobody But Me by The Human Beinz. Just so y'know...
