Well said, SA. Couldn't believe it on hearing the news this morning, I thought he was immortal. Once waved to him across a quiet London street in the '80s and he greeted us back like old friends, all in all seemed a very nice chap - as well as a legend.
Lemmy brought Punk to Heavy Metal, a feat for which he deserves a great deal of respect. Motorhead stripped down the showy, bombastic nature of Heavy Metal that just kept pushing Metal away from being relevant, making it music vital again.
