Bobby Selassie And Primal Jah

Primal Scream's Chaosmosis album from earlier this year didn't really do too much for me- it was alright but nothing special. This however is the best thing they've put their name to for a long time. Anton Newcombe of Brian Jonestown Massacre has remixed 100% Or Nothing into a nine and a half minutes long psychedelic dub odyssey, spaced out with dubby bass, disjointed backing vocals, a melodica wending its way through and lots of echo... echo... echo. It's coming out on limited edition clear vinyl on Friday. Really good.

  2. The original version was the best thing on an otherwise dire album. I thought their cover of Mantra For A State Of Mind single was infinitely better than anything on the album. This remix is top stuff though.

  3. I agree with the Robster regarding the S'express cover but I put that down to the presence of Jason Pierce and this remix is very good due to Newcombe I think. To be honest Primal Scream haven't done much for me for a long time sadly with the exception of the remixes, I did quite like the last single with that girl I had never heard of though.

  4. Actually you're right about Mantra which did grow on me. Some of More Light was decent. This is great. As Drew says due to Anto.
