Dazzle And Brassneck

During the First World War the navy painted their ships in these beautiful, modernist, black and white geometric patterns, to camouflage them and confuse the enemy about distance.

There's been a lot of love shown recently in our part of the blogosphere for The Wedding Present, and quite rightly too. They provided so many of the songs we used to career round the students union and indie disco dancefloors too. I saw The Wedding Present play live several times during 1988-1989 and they were always good. Brassneck is a belter with buzzsaw guitars, tub thumping drums and Gedge's northern growl.

I didn't knew this so far and have to check out if the German navy did the same. Wonderful song, Adam. These guitars are one of the reasons I felt for them.

Fantastic. I saw them a few times during this period too - they were always great.

B side of brass neck is a pavement cover Box Elder. Gotta go down as one of the great 7" releases ever.

The camouflage patterns from the first world war are fantastic. Disney painted some helmets.

Woah...woah Echorich. The Wedding Present make good use of the property while renting it but, not even Holly Golightly could take full ownership of it from SM and Spiral Stairs.
