Dublin's poetry/ guitar guttersnipes Fontaines D.C. have been remixed by Belgium's remix/ mash up party kings Soulwax,. A Hero's Death is ideal May Day bank holiday weekend music- a drum machine, NY disco- not- disco vibes, an FX strewn, mechanical chugger. Singer Grian Chatten dispenses wisdom- 'life ain't always empty/ life ain't always empty.... don't get stuck in the past/ say your favourite things at mass/ tell your mother you love her/ and go out of your way for others....'

Not a remix I would ever have expected to hear and was surprised to find it works!
Love the photo.
One of those remixes that is a very pleasant surprise.
I found the burnt out car on a walk recently, out in a field at the edge of Manchester. I've been teaching Eliza, 17, to drive recently which has been... ok. But the photo begs its own joke along the lines of 'Yes I have been teaching my daughter to drive, it's all going very well thank you but she's not yet mastered parking.
Been listening to this for a few days and loving it.
A quality Soulwax remix, of course, though I would echo C's comments that I didn't expect Fontaines D.C. to get a dancefloor rework any time soon.
Ditto on the photo, very similar to the header of my blog, though that particular burnt out shell was photographed on a walk in Bristol in 1993. I'm a few years from teaching my daughter to drive, though she had a taster professional lesson at 12, pre-lockdown, and is already convinced that she's a better driver than me...
Just discovered your blog tonight Khayem after reading your comment. Good stuff.
