Today is the day an unelected Prime Minister with no mandate, desiring only to suck up to the Daily Mail, the right wing of the Tory Party and a slim majority of those who bothered to vote last year, pushes the button to start the process of isolating the UK from European political and economic union.

Rowland S Howard was in Boys Next Door and The Birthday Party with Nick Cave and also Crime And The City Solution before making a couple of excellent solo albums. He died at the end of 2009.

When I turned on the car this morning heading to work, the iPhone shuffled to X's classic - The World's A Mess, It's In My Kiss....fairly appropriate for the day, the week, the month, the year...the age...
It still seems like a terrible dream. I feel real sadness for the people of Britain, even the dozy bastards that voted Leave.
There's an excellent quote on the Guardian's website from a Hastings resident who voted leave
'Joy proudly tells of how his family goes back all the way to Hastings in the 11th century. “The concept of being governed by an unelected body would have been absolutely abhorrent to anyone in those days. It’s almost like the state has been lost. It was like another takeover, we relinquished our law and power to an unelected body,” he says.'
He seems to think that the people of the 11th century had elected rulers.

Really interesting to read this the week that the right-wing press which pushed hard for Brexit were at the forefront of the campaign to join the European Union in the 70s.
Full impact of what is happening here won't be felt for about a decade at which point the first steps to crawl back in will begin. Bonkers way to 'goovern'.
