Don't Go To Waste

This may be none of my business as a Briton but...

If you put me on the spot I'm not sure I can list the achievements of the Obama Presidency but he is important if nothing else as a representative of a type of change many people never thought they'd see in the White House. On top of that, America, you really don't want Mitt Romney as your leader for the next four years. Do you?

Greetings from a fellow Briton living in America. A few thoughts - although every time I discuss this, because I'm a resident alien with no voting rights and not an American citizen I keep getting told to "Mine my own darn business."

Anyway what I've observed:
The right wing (aka Fox News) have done their job well.
Despite all the good things that Obama has done, such as affordable health care, saving the car industry, killing Bin Laden, he is still constantly criticised and demonised.
When the Republicans went out of power their moaning got louder and louder. You see they own the majority of media outlets here and all the talk radio stations constantly accuse. The newspapers the same, the local TV stations...
This is how they've succeeded. They've put doubt in peoples minds and it wouldn't matter if we are out of recession, out of debt and everybody working. As long as this commie muslim socialist (that's a swear word here) is still in the Whitehouse this country is going to ruin.

America, thanks to the poisonous politics, is very divided and sadly it's not going away any time soon.

Nice song by the way.

Thanks Webbie. That's a much better informed analysis than my own attempt.

Yeah - well done Webbie. Nutshelled nicely.
Even if it is none of your darn business!

Seems it's all about the turnout to me. And the fact that so many just simply vote to keep the OTHER one out.
