Parquet Floor

I was thinking only the other day how little new guitar music I listen to at the moment (going back months, all year maybe). Then I heard this song by Parquet Courts. Great ramshackle guitar riff, buckets of  energy and Lou Reed style vocal delivery. It's not going to change the world or anything but I'm quite partial to it right now. Admittedly I haven't heard the whole lp yet but I will especially as I've also just noticed Piccadilly Records have made it their album of the year.

Furthermore, I do like a parquet floor. What's your favourite type of flooring?

We have Burma teak flooring throughout downstairs. In the winter I yearn for a nice thick shag pile.

Whatever a "shag pile" might possibly mean in German, but when I was much younger I used to shag my then girlfriend on a flokati rug ... therefore this remains my favourite, I think ...

My wife loves carpets, even up the walls. Never used them à la Dirk way, sadly.

The album's great, new one's not far away either. Check out parquet courts performance on KEXP on you tube, live from mellow jonny's bike shop, one of my favourite things in 2013.

We have carpets on our parquet. And I have to agree to Dirk that flokatis were very trendy in the days long gone by (in any way)
