Ride's forthcoming album This Is Not A Safe Place promises to be an adventurous and shape-shifting affair. Brand new song Repetition has a synthesised bassline, huge krautrock drumming and the feel of band who have morphed way beyond from where they started. Put this along side Andy Bell's GLOK. More please.
First Ride released Future Love, a statement that Weather Diaries was anything but a one off return from the band. It satisfies in the way a classic Ride song should - warm vocals, killer guitars and a chorus that reminds you of so much that came before, but is so much about right now. Then comes Repetition and you know Ride is NOT going to be repeating itself on the forthcoming This Is Not Safe. This track is a MONSTER. You immediately feel like this is the band that burst out on the scene 30 years ago, but it's a song that proves they are looking forward to the next stage.
