The Return Of Friday Night Is Rockabilly Night 160

This is voodoo priest Louis Romain, from Haiti, photographed in the 1930s. He is the cover star of The Gun Club's debut album the Fire Of Love and also turned up on the sleeve of Sabres Of Paradise's Wilmot single. The Fire Of Love's grooves are shot through with rockabilly, as well as punk, blues, and country.

It's Friday. Shall we have a drink?

..I was waiting for that since this morning, actually.

Our friend Davyh is showing signs of some distress. I have it on good authority that he now actually likes at least one Taylor Swift song. Someone should definitely drag him back to the world of blogging before he definitely loses what's left of his good sense (oh, how I'd love for him to read this!).

I'll have a pint of claret please.

Leave Mr H be. I have been pretty impressed with Ms' Swift statements on spotify but I don't think I would be able to recognise one of her songs if my record collection depended on it.

How about a German rockabilly cover of Blondie for a Friday night?

They do a rather good version of Enola Gay as well

I knew you were trouble when you walked in.

Taylor Swift.

Pint please. Of red.

On that theme, did you know that there's a Taylor Swift / Aphex Twin mashup album (here: https://soundcloud.com/david_rees/sets/aphex-swift)?

Having said that, I promise I won't mention her name again.

Supper's ready and my wife sounds annoyed. Better go!
